11th Annual Lexington High School Cross Country
Post-Thanksgiving 5k Race

Lexington High School Cross Country/Track alumni have been
coming together with the local running community the morning after Thanksgiving
to compete, relive the glory days, and burn off some Turkey Day calories since
2008. Now in its 11th year, the "Alumni Race" has served as a
great way to bring together the local running community to race on the team's
storied 5k home course. All proceeds will benefit the Lexington High
School Cross Country program.
The Girls and Boys teams are among the top ranked teams in
the state this year, and will be making a serious run at the Cross Country
State Title next month. After the All-State meet we are planning on going to
compete in the Nike Northeast Regional Championships where the top two teams
advance to Nationals. Each kid has to pay their own way to attend this meet,
and the proceeds of this race help to cover much of that expense.
